Applications Engineer (Marine Technology)

Location: Houston, TX, United States; domestic and international travel is required for demonstrations, training, and customer support.

Salary: $85,000–$110,000 annually, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Develop customer procedures for bespoke operations and applications.
• Partner with sales on customer engagements, proposals, solution design, and technical feasibility assessments.
• Deliver in-person and remote product demonstrations and collect feedback for sales and customer services.
• Train customers on system operation, configuration, best practices, and regulatory considerations.
• Provide post-sales support, including installation, calibration, operation, and onboarding assistance for rental customers.
• Carry out vessel installation and commissioning when required and translate customer needs into product and engineering insights.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Marine, Systems, or related Engineering, or equivalent technical experience.
• Several years of field-service experience with positioning and communication systems.
• Experience supporting sales teams or working in a customer-facing technical role.
• Background in ocean or maritime technology, navigation, GNSS, radar, situational awareness, or a related domain.
• Excellent English communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Comfort working with ship operators, integrators, and maritime authorities; pragmatic, self-driven, solution-oriented, and collaborative.
