Senior Principal System Validation Engineer

Base salary: $205,000–$255,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop and perform system validation tests using data center equipment and scalable automation platforms.
• Define validation plans and automate testing of connectivity ICs and board products.
• Design experiments to root-cause unexpected system behavior and analyze validation data.
• Automate reporting of results and specification compliance.
• Work directly with key customers to understand system requirements and highlight product capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• At least 12 years of experience supporting or developing complex SoC or silicon products for server, storage, or networking applications.
• Understanding of x86 or ARM architecture and the UEFI/Linux boot sequence.
• Hands-on experience with high-speed protocols such as CXL, PCIe, NVMe, or Ethernet.
• Experience with silicon or system bring-up, validation, debugging, customer systems, lab equipment, and protocol analyzers.
• Strong Python experience for efficient, repeatable bench automation, data analysis, and reporting.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of C or C++ for embedded firmware and device drivers.
• Knowledge of SerDes architecture, including equalization, adaptation, CDR, jitter budgets, and PAM4 SerDes.
• Familiarity with PCIe compliance standards, schematic capture, PCB layout, and IBIS-AMI simulation tools.
