Senior Hardware Validation Engineer (Systems)

Location: Santa Clara, California; onsite

Salary: $149,000–$225,000 USD annual base salary, with possible incentive pay and/or equity.

What you will do

• Define test plans and validate peripherals for new and existing FlashArray products.
• Perform hands-on laboratory characterization, thermal modeling, and stress testing under different operating conditions.
• Use oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and SERDES tools to evaluate design robustness and debug I2C, PCIe, DDR5, and related interfaces.
• Drive qualification of SFP and QSFP optical interfaces, DAC cables, Ethernet and Fibre Channel adapters, boot drives, DRAM, and x86 CPUs.
• Review hardware designs and JDM validation reports while supporting software and diagnostics engineering with laboratory debugging.
• Own validation across the product lifecycle, including field-failure reviews, failure-rate reduction, and root cause analysis.

Requirements

• BSEE or MSEE in Electrical Engineering.
• 3+ years of relevant experience; candidates with less experience may also be considered.
• Strong knowledge of peripheral technologies, signal integrity, thermal requirements, and hardware debugging.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, Linux, or similar environments.
• Experience with spreadsheets, Tableau, Jira, bug-tracking tools, switches, and servers.
• Excellent communication, execution, and schedule-management skills.
