Cost Accounting Manager

Location: Onsite in Santa Clara, California, United States; regular work from the Santa Clara, CA office is expected.

Annual base salary: $138,000–$207,000 USD; the role may also be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.

What you will do

• Lead quarterly contract manufacturer quote reviews and validate standard cost updates across bills of materials.
• Partner with Supply Chain and Operations to analyze purchase price variance, cost fluctuations, and product margin drivers.
• Manage cost accounting activities including capitalized overhead, warranty reserves, inventory valuation, and period-end close.
• Maintain internal controls in a SOX-compliant environment and support global financial reporting.
• Act as the accounting liaison for manufacturing partners, reviewing claims and reconciling third-party inventory.
• Prepare cost roll-forwards and variance analyses for leadership decision-making.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in standard costing, US GAAP, manufacturing cost flows, and complex BOM structures.
• Experience with financial controls and inventory valuation in a publicly traded, SOX-compliant organization.
• Experience working with third-party contract manufacturers and global, multi-currency operations.
• Advanced proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP or NetSuite and data analysis tools.
• Ability to communicate complex financial concepts and influence Operations, FP&A, Supply Chain, and external vendors without direct authority.
• Ability to work onsite from the Santa Clara, CA office, except during PTO, business travel, or approved leave.
