Senior Cost Accountant (Aerospace Manufacturing)

Location: Hawthorne, California; onsite

Salary: $130,000–$160,000 per year

What you will do

• Implement, maintain, and customize NetSuite costing modules for accounting policies and reporting needs.
• Execute cost accounting entries, labor distributions, inventory reconciliations, work centers, routing steps, and bill of materials cost structures.
• Track expenditures and analyze material, labor, and overhead variances against budgeted build costs.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Supply Chain to account for scrap, rework, spare parts, test products, and qualification units.
• Apply US GAAP to distinguish pre-feasibility R&D expenses from capitalized flight hardware and PP&E.
• Maintain FAR-compliant cost accounting, labor logs, overhead pools, and audit documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of progressive cost accounting experience, including job-order or project-based costing.
• At least 2 years of experience with NetSuite manufacturing, inventory, or project costing modules.
• Experience in a FAR-compliant environment, including aerospace, defense, or government contracting.
• Knowledge of GAAP cost accounting and experience improving accounting processes and internal controls.
• Experience collaborating with engineering, operations, or manufacturing teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with ASC 730, ASC 360, government contract accounting, and low-volume, high-complexity manufacturing.
• Experience supporting NetSuite implementations, upgrades, or customizations.
• CPA or CMA certification and/or a master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Aerospace or advanced manufacturing industry experience.
