Transfer Station Supervisor (Waste Management)

Location: Braintree, Massachusetts, United States; onsite work in an active transfer station environment

Salary: $87,300–$116,200 USD per annum

What you will do

• Lead the safe, compliant, and efficient daily operation of a high-volume, state-permitted solid waste transfer station.
• Supervise, coach, train, evaluate, and schedule approximately eight operations employees.
• Coordinate heavy equipment, waste processing, transportation activities, facility housekeeping, and site readiness.
• Partner with Maintenance leadership to prioritize repairs, maintain equipment availability, and improve facility reliability.
• Coordinate with subcontracted waste haulers, transporters, customers, vendors, county representatives, and facility owners.
• Support staffing, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, P&L accountability, safety initiatives, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor's degree is preferred.
• 3–5 years of supervisory or management experience in an industrial, logistics, transportation, waste, recycling, construction, or similar operational environment.
• Experience supervising employees in a fast-paced field or industrial operation.
• Strong organizational, planning, problem-solving, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and operational reporting systems.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors around heavy equipment, trucks, noise, dust, odors, moving materials, and varying weather conditions; required PPE and safety procedures must be followed.

Nice to have

• Experience with heavy equipment, hydraulic equipment, solid waste, transfer stations, recycling, transportation, logistics, landfills, or industrial operations.
• Hydraulic certification or licensing.
• Experience with customers, vendors, contractors, public stakeholders, budgets, operational reporting, financial metrics, or P&L activities.
