Environmental Field Tech II (Hazmat)

What you will do

• Respond to hazardous and non-hazardous spills and environmental emergencies during and outside regular business hours.
• Perform tank cleaning, oil-spill cleanup, drum handling, decontamination, sweeping, shoveling, and high-pressure washing.
• Conduct confined-space entry and other remedial activities, including work in manholes.
• Operate roll-off, vacuum, and box trucks, skid steers, forklifts, pumps, pallet jacks, and other cleanup equipment.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip Department of Transportation inspections and maintain vehicle logs.
• Maintain equipment and work sites while following safety policies and applicable regulations.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with light and heavy equipment and hazardous or non-hazardous emergency cleanup.
• Ability to pass 40-hour HAZWOPER training upon hire.
• Ability to move objects weighing up to 50 lbs and work safely around chemicals.
• Ability to read operational, technical, safety, quality, and process documents, including safety data sheets.
• Ability to use tablets or PCs and maintain accuracy while handling multiple responsibilities.

Nice to have

• Class C driver’s license with Hazmat endorsement.
• Current confined-space entry certification or ability to obtain it upon hire.
• Certificates for specialized equipment such as man-lifts, hoists, or scissor lifts.
• Valid driver’s license where required by the position.
