TL;DR
Sales Engineer (AI Infrastructure) (Storage, AI/HPC): Architecting high-performance storage solutions for AI/ML training, HPC simulations, data analytics, real-time trading, genomics, and autonomous systems with an accent on scalability, reliability, resilience, and GPU-accelerated workloads. Focus on translating customer requirements into system architectures, conducting POCs and benchmarks, integrating storage with Kubernetes and AI frameworks, and guiding complex technical sales cycles.

What you will do
- Partner with customers in finance, pharmaceuticals, education, physical AI, and other data-intensive industries to understand critical data challenges.
- Architect scalable storage solutions for AI/ML training, HPC simulations, data analytics, GPU-accelerated workloads, and autonomous systems.
- Create bills of materials, system architectures, and technical proposals for complex RFPs.
- Conduct live demonstrations, proofs of concept, and performance benchmarks.
- Integrate storage solutions with GPU clusters, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and AI frameworks.
- Share customer insights with Product and Engineering teams, mentor colleagues, and contribute to product direction and technical thought leadership.
Requirements
- 3–8+ years of experience in pre-sales, solutions architecture, or technical consulting.
- Proven experience designing storage or infrastructure solutions and working with enterprise storage systems.
- Strong understanding of SAN, NAS, object storage, parallel file systems, and protocols including S3, POSIX, NFS, and SMB.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, InfiniBand, RDMA, and architectural patterns for reliability, resilience, security, and scale.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to engineers and executives and manage complex technical sales cycles.
- Fluent German is required. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience, is expected.
Nice to have
- Experience with AI/ML infrastructure, HPC, or high-performance workloads.
- Curiosity about massively parallel technologies such as Lustre, GPFS, and Exascaler.
- Exposure to storage or systems through coursework, internships, or projects.
