Senior DevOps / Cloud Engineer

Location: Arlington, Virginia, United States (hybrid)

Salary: $140,000–$200,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, build, operate, and improve scalable, reliable, resilient, and secure cloud infrastructure.
• Develop infrastructure-as-code and automation using Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep, or equivalent tools.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application, infrastructure, and configuration deployments.
• Deploy and operate containerized applications and cloud-native platforms using Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud services.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, observability, identity controls, secrets management, and secure configurations.
• Partner with software, security, and infrastructure teams while providing technical leadership and mentorship.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information technology, or another technical discipline, or an associate degree with equivalent relevant experience.
• At least 8 years of overall technical experience, including substantial hands-on experience in DevOps, cloud, platform engineering, Linux, infrastructure automation, CI/CD, networking, containers, or application operations.
• Strong scripting or development experience in Python, Go, PowerShell, Bash, Perl, or a similar language.
• Experience designing, building, and operating production infrastructure with automation and infrastructure-as-code.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure, cloud, networking, application, and deployment issues and collaborate across technical teams.
• Must successfully complete a stringent background investigation and obtain the required government security clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform, Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep, Pulumi, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and CI/CD platforms.
• Experience with Linux administration, TCP/IP networking, configuration management, monitoring, logging, and observability platforms.
• Knowledge of cloud identity and access management, secrets management, encryption, certificates, SRE, distributed systems, databases, messaging, and caching.
