Sr. Mechanical Engineer

Location: Wilmington, Massachusetts; must be based within commuting distance. The role becomes hybrid with remote and onsite days each week after initial onboarding.

Salary: $100,000–$170,000 per year, plus eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus.

What you will do

• Lead a technical team responsible for mechanical design, modeling, testing, and packaging of complex electro-mechanical components, subsystems, assemblies, and systems.
• Develop innovative, cost-effective, and manufacturable designs for high-power electronics, remote plasma sources, microwave delivery systems, and ozone generators.
• Perform engineering calculations, FEA simulations, tolerance analysis, and design validation activities.
• Develop prototypes and oversee testing to verify product performance and reliability.
• Drive root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvements in quality, reliability, and cost.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, product management, and project management teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and 7+ years of experience.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, manufacturing processes, and engineering analysis.
• Experience designing and testing complex mechanical systems from requirements through realization.
• Expert-level SolidWorks skills and experience with product lifecycle management systems.
• Knowledge of advanced machining techniques and strong technical communication skills.
• Applicants may need to be U.S. persons for positions involving access to ITAR- or EAR-controlled goods and technologies.

• Experience with CFD techniques.
• Advanced knowledge of aluminum, stainless steel, or ceramic materials.
• Semiconductor manufacturing industry experience.
