Robotics Quality Engineer

Location: Onsite in Fremont, California, USA. Up to 50% domestic travel; international travel may be required. Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Annual salary: $145,000–$165,000 USD, depending on market location, experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors.

What you will do

• Own product quality and reliability for robotic and electronic systems across design, manufacturing, and field performance.
• Define and validate test and inspection requirements for PCBA, harness, motion-control, sensor, and embedded subsystems.
• Support NPI through DFMEA/PFMEA execution, control plans, DVT oversight, and qualification of automated inspection and test systems.
• Lead HALT, HASS, burn-in, environmental stress screening, and other product-level reliability testing.
• Evaluate and audit suppliers, manage quality scorecards, and drive corrective and preventive actions based on defect, failure, and field-return data.
• Lead cross-functional failure investigations and translate customer and field feedback into design, manufacturing, and supplier improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Electrical, Electronics, or Robotics Engineering.
• 3–7 years of product-level quality or reliability engineering experience in robotics, embedded electronics, or smart devices.
• Strong knowledge of PCBA design and testing, motion-control systems, sensors, and firmware integration.
• Experience with product validation, DVT/PVT processes, environmental and reliability qualification testing, and supplier or product audits.
• Proficiency with Minitab or similar SPC tools, including Cp, Cpk, Weibull, and X̄-R analysis.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or ISO 13485, plus GD&T, AQL inspection, DMAIC, DFSS, 8D, 5-Why, and fault-tree analysis.
