What you will do
- Own autonomy-critical mechanical subsystems from concept through testing and deployment.
- Design, build, and execute laboratory, environmental, and field test infrastructure and experiments.
- Validate real-world performance of autonomous hardware under representative operating conditions.
- Diagnose and resolve cross-disciplinary failures involving mechanics, autonomy, sensing, manufacturing, controls, and embedded software.
- Support production scale-up through build procedures, fixtures, and collaboration with contract manufacturers and suppliers.
Requirements
- 2+ years of professional experience in mechanical engineering, robotics, or mechatronics, with direct ownership of shipped hardware systems.
- Strong mechanical design and CAD skills, including tolerance analysis and production drawings; experience with SolidWorks, NX, or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience designing and executing hardware test campaigns.
- Ability to debug complex issues involving mechanical systems, sensors, controls, and embedded software.
- Experience with CNC, sheet metal, composites, additive manufacturing, and iterative design cycles.
- Working knowledge of structural, thermal, or dynamic analysis using FEA or first-principles calculations, plus familiarity with UAV, UGV, or similar robotics systems.
Nice to have
- Experience running qualification campaigns for robotic or drone products.
- Experience characterizing sensors.
