Legal Counsel - Italy (m/f/x) (Fintech)

Location: Milan, Italy

Salary: EUR 50,000–99,000 gross per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

What you will do

• Own the legal side of the Italian branch and advise on financial regulation, corporate, data protection, tax, and employment law.
• Draft and manage customer-facing legal documents for the Italian market.
• Lead legal research and documentation for new products, including credit and credit cards.
• Interact with Banca d'Italia, other regulators, external institutions, and legal advisors.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with clients, partners, and suppliers.
• Manage complaints, contentious customer cases, out-of-court resolution matters, inheritance, garnishment, and insolvency cases.

Requirements

• Law degree and substantial professional experience in a top-tier law firm, fintech or startup, or the financial services sector.
• In-depth knowledge of Italian and European financial services regulations and fintech business models.
• Experience providing strategic legal guidance in complex legal environments and working with business stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail and a diligent work ethic.
• Full professional fluency in Italian and English is required.
• Experience interacting directly with financial services regulators is highly desirable.
