Commercial Lawyer (Fintech)

What you will do

• Lead drafting, review, and negotiation of commercial agreements with a risk-balanced approach supporting fast growth.
• Build and maintain the commercial contract playbook with standard positions and escalation triggers.
• Deploy and operate AI-assisted contract workflows, measuring quality against human review.
• Advise on major partnerships, market expansion, and new product deals at the intersection of legal and business strategy.
• Manage external counsel globally, balancing quality and cost.
• Partner cross-functionally with product, finance, operations, compliance, and leadership.
• Handle broader legal matters aligned with commercial objectives as needed.

Requirements

• Legally qualified with 3-7 years of experience in-house at a high-growth startup, fintech, or comparable private practice.
• Proven track record in high-volume commercial contracting.
• Comfortable using metrics to drive process improvements.
• Excellent global external counsel management skills.
• Exceptional communication skills to translate complex legal issues for non-lawyers.
• Highly organized, autonomous, and able to manage multiple high-stakes deliverables.
• Fluent in English; French and/or Spanish strongly preferred.
