Flight Software Engineer (Satellite Systems)

Salary: $125,000–$137,500 annual base salary, excluding additional benefits.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and own mission-critical software applications for satellite systems.
• Develop software for autonomous spacecraft operations and maintain reliable 24/7 functionality.
• Support spacecraft commissioning during launch and early operations.
• Own spacecraft software solutions throughout the lifecycle from initial design through deployment.
• Perform unit, integration, and system-level testing, resolving defects and operational issues.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external customers to align requirements, solutions, and technical roadmaps.

Requirements

• U.S. Person status is required to access export-controlled data.
• At least 1 year of flight software experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• Strong proficiency in Python, C++, or Rust.
• Experience with real-time systems running on distributed hardware and with software integration, testing, and validation.
• Knowledge of embedded Linux, system administration, Yocto, satellite systems and protocols such as CCSDS and ECSS, TCP/IP, UDP, Protobuf, secure communications, and encryption.
