Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote-first across the US and Canada; in-person company gatherings twice a year.

Salary: $255,900–$318,600 CAD annual base salary, plus a target annual bonus of 15% of base, meaningful equity, and an RRSP match.

What you will do

• Own ambiguous engineering problems end to end, from framing and experimentation through delivery and evaluation.
• Partner with product managers, design, data, customers, and business partners to bring evidence into product decisions.
• Build and improve recommendation, ranking, and personalization systems for family registries.
• Develop evaluation systems that identify hallucinations and quality issues in AI support agents.
• Design reliable shared data models and product abstractions that support multiple customer-facing products.
• Review risky changes, manage technical tradeoffs, harden critical paths, and share effective AI engineering practices.

Requirements

• Several years of experience shipping production systems as a software engineer.
• Senior-level judgment for working independently on ambiguous problems and changing direction based on evidence.
• Broad engineering range across backend services, frontend applications, and data pipelines.
• Ability to learn unfamiliar parts of the stack quickly and own outcomes rather than only individual features.
• Experience with or ability to work across Rails, React, TypeScript, MySQL, AWS, and related platform technologies.
