Principal Agentic Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote, with the preferred candidate based in Canada and working hours aligned to PT or ET.

Salary: CAD 170,000–220,000 per year, with potential bonus, equity, and other compensation.

What you will do

• Architect end-to-end, enterprise-scale solutions across frontend, backend services, APIs, data pipelines, and cloud infrastructure.
• Define technical vision and make architecture decisions covering UI components, service design, data modeling, infrastructure, security, and performance.
• Translate product requirements into detailed specifications for autonomous coding-agent implementation.
• Integrate LLM APIs, RAG pipelines, AI-powered features, and agent orchestration frameworks across the application stack.
• Design microservices, composable architectures, containerized deployments, Kubernetes platforms, and serverless solutions.
• Mentor engineers, raise technical standards, and collaborate with product, UX, project, technology, and client stakeholders.

Requirements

• 10+ years of full-stack software engineering experience with Staff- or Lead-level technical leadership.
• Strong TypeScript and modern JavaScript skills with hands-on React, Next.js, and Node.js experience.
• Experience building RESTful or GraphQL APIs, backend services, production databases, data models, and scalable microservices.
• Extensive experience with GCP or comparable AWS/Azure services, Docker, Kubernetes, serverless computing, Git, CI/CD, and production deployments.
• Production experience with AI coding agents, prompt engineering, LLM application development, vector stores, RAG, and agent orchestration frameworks.
• Preferred location: Canada, with working hours aligned to PT or ET. Experience working in fully remote, distributed environments is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with BMAD Method or similar spec-driven development frameworks.
• Experience with agent design patterns, task planning, observability, and debugging.
• Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code experience.
• Experience with eCommerce platforms, mobile, platform engineering, testing, Lean, or Agile practices.
• Consultancy or professional services experience, business development, or technical strategy experience.
