Senior Software Engineer (AI/ML)

Location: Must currently reside in the Seattle, WA or Los Angeles, CA metropolitan areas; quarterly travel to the downtown Los Angeles office is required. Candidates must be U.S. citizens or nationals, U.S. permanent residents, refugees, or asylees due to export control requirements.

Salary: $143,000–$214,000 per year, plus potential annual incentive and/or long-term incentives.

What you will do

• Lead the design and architecture of scalable, reliable, and high-performance software systems.
• Develop and scale cloud-native, serverless, and containerized applications for digital platforms.
• Design and deploy RAG systems using LLMs, vector databases, embeddings, semantic search, and document processing.
• Solve complex technical challenges and optimize application and system performance.
• Collaborate with product, design, QA, operations, and engineering partners to deliver software.
• Mentor junior engineers, participate in code reviews, and maintain technical documentation.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software development experience, including cloud-based application development.
• Strong full-stack expertise with backend technologies and frontend frameworks, especially React and TypeScript.
• Experience architecting and deploying AWS applications using Lambda, ECS, DynamoDB, S3, Step Functions, API Gateway, and Fargate.
• Proven experience designing and deploying production RAG systems with LLMs, vector databases, embeddings, prompt engineering, retrieval optimization, and semantic search.
• Proficiency with RESTful and GraphQL APIs, authentication, authorization, encryption, and cloud compliance practices.
• Experience with Agile ceremonies, technical leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and mentoring.
