Project Engineer, Commissioning Services (PLC/Robotics)

Location: USA remote, field-based, with travel to customer installation sites required up to 75% of the time

Salary: $96,000–$132,000 base annually, plus medical, dental, vision, disability, 401(k), PTO, and other benefits.

What you will do

• Lead onsite commissioning support, issue resolution, coordination, training, and reporting across departments.
• Install, configure, commission, and test PLC-controlled equipment, control cabinets, robotic systems, and related automation components.
• Maintain commissioning workload, progress, Jira tickets, documentation, and timesheet alignment for each project.
• Design, benchmark, and standardize commissioning processes while auditing third-party contractor work.
• Resolve blocked or rejected Jira items and collaborate with project managers, engineers, scrum masters, Software, Engineering, and ICS teams.
• Participate in product development reviews, workshops, and cross-functional planning to define commissioning requirements and field-support needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, automated production management, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience with Allen Bradley PLCs, ABB or Fanuc robots, Ethernet/IP industrial networking, or PanelView Plus operator interfaces.
• Experience with VFDs, motion-control equipment, and remote debugging through Remote Desktop, SSH, or browser tools.
• Ability to manage complex projects, dependencies, schedules, stakeholders, deliverables, timelines, and budgets.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive and/or fly to customer locations.
• Ability to work in construction-site environments, at heights up to 45 feet, in restrictive areas, and with required PPE and safety protocols.

Nice to have

• Mechanical engineering background or substantial hands-on mechanical experience.
