Industrial Automation Engineer

Location: On-site at the Snyder, Texas Innovation Center; candidates near Snyder or willing to relocate near Snyder are considered. Some hybrid remote work may be negotiated after several months, depending on site activities and staffing. Most work is Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work.

Salary: $84,000–$154,000 per year in total compensation across U.S. locations.

What you will do

• Improve and innovate gravity energy storage system designs.
• Design, write, and commission automation code using Beckhoff TwinCAT for I/O, PLC, motion, and safety systems.
• Implement and troubleshoot automation designs and control code on industrial sites.
• Develop control systems involving PLCs, VFD motor drives, motion control, network communications, HMIs, data collection, and metric evaluation.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, civil, and structural engineers, construction professionals, and corporate teams.

Requirements

• Extensive experience programming Beckhoff automation systems.
• Industrial construction site or manufacturing facility experience.
• Experience with motion control, preferably VFD control of heavy loads.
• Experience coding proportional-integral-derivative controllers for high-speed and precise movement of heavy loads.
• Relevant education and experience: 3+ years with a master’s or doctoral degree, 5+ years with a bachelor’s degree, 7+ years with an associate degree, or 9+ years with a high school diploma.
• Willingness to spend most of the working time at the Snyder, Texas site; safety certification and a pre-employment background check are required.
