Senior Network Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah, USA; hybrid with on-site work 2–3 days per week. Candidates should live within approximately 50 miles of the office.

Base salary: $113,100–$149,300 USD per year, plus bonus plans and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and manage Layer 2 and Layer 3 network topologies across on-premises datacenter and cloud environments.
• Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot enterprise firewalls, with a focus on security and network segmentation.
• Collaborate with security, systems, and DevOps teams to support network infrastructure for mission-critical applications.
• Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and configuration management.
• Lead root cause analysis for network incidents and outages.
• Maintain network documentation, diagrams, runbooks, and compliance preparation materials.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience in enterprise network engineering.
• Expertise in firewall configuration, rule management, and troubleshooting, including technologies such as Palo Alto, Cisco ASA/FTD, or Fortinet.
• Strong experience with datacenter switching, routing, and network segmentation.
• Experience with cloud networking in AWS, Azure, or GCP, including VPCs, VPNs, routing tables, and security groups.
• Knowledge of BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP, VLAN, VXLAN, IPsec, and DNS.
• Proficiency with Wireshark, tcpdump, or comparable packet-analysis tools; applicants must have the right to work in the applied location.

Nice to have

• Experience with Juniper EX, QFX, or MX switches and routers.
• Familiarity with Aruba ClearPass or similar NAC solutions.
• Experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform or Ansible.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNP, JNCIS/JNCIP, or AWS Networking Specialty.
