Infrastructure Specialist

TL;DR

Infrastructure Specialist (Networking/Critical Infrastructure): Lead architecture, design, implementation, and support of routed/switched networks for enterprise, industrial, and critical infrastructure systems with an accent on reliability, high-availability, and secure remote access. Focus on advanced troubleshooting of routing, switching, firewalls, wireless, LTE, cloud connectivity, and developing resilient designs including IP schemes and segmentation strategies.

Location: Onsite in San Diego, California, United States. Must be authorized to work in the United States, valid driver’s license required. Subject to background check and drug/alcohol testing.

Salary: $130,000 - $160,000 (based on experience)

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and troubleshoot routed/switched networks, firewalls, wireless, LTE/cellular, cloud, and remote access for enterprise and industrial systems.
• Support infrastructure modernization, upgrades, migrations, and cutovers ensuring reliability and continuity.
• Build standardized configurations, templates, and processes for consistency across projects.
• Develop network designs including IP addressing, segmentation, and resilient architectures.
• Maintain technical documentation like diagrams, Visio drawings, implementation plans, and as-builts.
• Collaborate with teams, project managers, cybersecurity, field teams, and clients for high-quality outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or related field + 7+ years technical experience (or equivalent).
• Advanced knowledge of BGP, OSPF, HSRP, VRRP; proficiency in VLANs, STP/RSTP/RPVST+/VPC.
• Strong IPsec, VPN, secure remote access; LTE/cellular experience.
• Packet analysis, troubleshooting with captures and protocol diagnostics.
• Technical documentation and diagramming (Visio); manage multiple projects.
• Authorized to work in US; valid driver’s license; background/drug testing.

Nice to have

• IT/OT/industrial/utility/critical infrastructure experience.
• VMware, virtual networking; Azure/AWS networking.
• Consulting/systems integration/client-facing projects.
• Cybersecurity (segmentation, firewalls, hardening); CISSP.
