Applications Engineer, Senior

Location: Hybrid in Holtsville, New York, with a minimum of 3 days per week onsite; travel of 30% or more may be required.

Salary: $108,960.00–$163,440.00 annual base pay, plus a target performance-based annual cash incentive equal to 12% of base pay.

What you will do

• Architect, evaluate, improve, and support system solutions integrating advanced data capture products with customer point-of-sale systems.
• Serve as an experienced vision technical resource and initial escalation point for internal and external stakeholders.
• Analyze product performance and usability challenges, identify root causes, and help validate fixes for future releases.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, product management, partners, and customers on requirements, deployments, testing, and strategic projects.
• Maintain vision laboratories and remote testing infrastructure, and develop technical training and solution deployment documentation.
• Design system demonstrations and provide moderate Tier 3 technical support, escalating complex issues when needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of professional experience.
• Experience with advanced data capture and retail point-of-sale solutions.
• Knowledge of basic electrical engineering concepts, including schematics, wiring, and hand tools.
• Knowledge of basic imaging concepts and experience with Windows, Linux, and common scripting toolsets.
• Ability to work onsite in Holtsville, New York, at least 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree or Certified Vision Professional – Basic certification.
• Hands-on experience with machine vision, computer vision, or image processing, including cameras, lenses, lighting, filters, and focal lengths.
• Experience with mechanical, electrical, and industrial automation systems.
• Knowledge of manufacturing or logistics processes and environments.
• Cross-functional collaboration and strategic planning experience.
