Systems Engineer, Cameras/Imaging

Location: Sunnyvale, California, United States; hybrid. Applicants must have the right to work in the United States. Immigration petition sponsorship is not available for this role.

Salary: $125,000–$150,000 per year plus equity, depending on qualifications.

What you will do

• Develop perceptual features that improve realism in MR/AR experiences by modeling human vision and color perception.
• Research and develop computer vision and machine learning algorithms for imaging, ambient light estimation, and photorealistic object rendering.
• Build objective and subjective evaluation platforms for virtual object rendering using psychophysical methods.
• Design real-time display color-processing pipelines using GPU, CPU/MCU, and hardware-accelerated resources.
• Prototype MR/AR demonstrations with Python, MATLAB, Blender, Unity, and C#.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide technical leadership during project development and productization.

Requirements

• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Imaging Science, Image Processing, Computer Vision, or a related field.
• Background in image processing and computer vision, with strong knowledge of machine learning, VR/AR, and user experience.
• Proficiency in Python and C++.
• Hands-on experience with camera or display pipelines for embedded systems, mobile devices, or Android platforms.
• Understanding of light sensors, image sensors, camera systems, and display hardware.
• Authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with Unity, Blender, or Maya.
• Experience in 3D computer graphics, lighting, and shading.
