TL;DR
Vehicle Integration Engineer I/II (Aerospace): Integrating, testing, and launching the Neutron reusable launch vehicle with an accent on ground support tooling, flight hardware procedures, and vehicle-level operations. Focus on designing processing facilities, developing system checkouts, and coordinating mechanical, electrical, fluid, avionics, and propellant systems.

Location: Middle River, Maryland, United States; onsite work in office, technical, laboratory, and production environments.

Base salary: $80,000–$140,000 USD annually, with level and compensation determined based on knowledge, skills, education, and experience.

What you will do

  • Develop concepts of operations, ground support tooling, and processes for handling Neutron components and integrated stages.
  • Develop and execute procedures for integrating and testing flight hardware and ground support equipment.
  • Support first- and second-stage vehicle integration, propellant systems, avionics, and autonomous flight termination systems.
  • Develop inspection, repair, assembly, maintenance, system test, and vehicle checkout procedures for new and flown hardware.
  • Design tools, hardware, processing facilities, build flows, and test operations for efficient vehicle processing.
  • Maintain configuration and planning documentation, track non-conformances, and collaborate with managers, engineers, and technicians.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in aerospace, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Knowledge of building and testing launch vehicle hardware and associated environments; Engineer II requires 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to author comprehensive work instructions and procedures for assembly, test, and launch.
  • Ability to work across multidisciplinary mechanical, electrical, and fluid systems.
  • For U.S. office work, candidates must meet applicable ITAR eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, refugee or asylee status, or eligibility for required government authorizations.
  • Ability to work in office and technical environments and move between buildings, laboratories, and production areas.

Nice to have

  • Master of Science degree in aerospace, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with launch vehicle hardware and subsystems, including avionics, high-pressure gas, structures, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience building and testing complex assemblies at system and subsystem levels.
  • Experience applying project management principles.
