TL;DR
Systems Integration Engineer (I/II) (Weekend Shift) (Aerospace): Building, integrating, and testing satellite vehicles at subsystem and system levels with an accent on assembly procedures, test campaigns, and electrical and mechanical debugging. Focus on designing integration hardware, evaluating manufacturability, resolving non-conformances, and executing propulsion, thermal, electrical, and structural system tests.

Location: Irvine, California, United States. Onsite weekend shift, Friday–Sunday, 6:00 AM–7:00 PM. U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance are required.

Salary: $80,000–$125,000 per year, depending on level and qualifications.

What you will do

  • Design satellite vehicle assembly processes, procedures, tools, and hardware.
  • Develop and execute test campaigns for electronic and mechanical systems at subsystem and system levels.
  • Define vehicle integration build flows and test concepts of operations.
  • Evaluate designs for manufacturability and integration into subsystems.
  • Coordinate with engineers and technicians to support larger-scale manufacturing and automation.
  • Manage work orders, resolve electrical and mechanical issues, and turn non-conformances into system improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, manufacturing, or electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 0+ years of relevant experience for Level I or 2+ years for Level II.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
  • Hands-on work capability, including standing for extended periods and lifting or moving objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work the Friday–Sunday weekend shift from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Nice to have

  • Experience integrating and testing propulsion, thermal, electrical, and structural systems.
  • Experience with vibration, shock, thermal, vacuum, or radiation testing.
  • Electrical debugging of PCB assemblies and ability to read schematics.
  • Test planning, configuration management, production aerospace, laboratory, cleanroom, or ESD experience.
  • Basic programming and Linux experience.
