Safety Specialist (EHS)

What you will do

• Own site-level occupational safety, health, and environmental programs and serve as the primary contact for compliance.
• Lead the facility Safety Committee and coordinate mandatory safety training, workplace assessments, industrial hygiene surveys, and job safety analyses.
• Manage the Behavior Based Safety Program and investigate accidents and injuries, documenting root causes, human factors, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate first-aid-trained employees and emergency responders across all shifts, and monitor workers’ compensation claims and accident-rate reports.
• Maintain compliance with the Corporate Facilities Excellence Program and report safety, industrial health, and environmental activities to plant leadership.
• Coordinate environmental permits, licenses, hazardous-material documentation, and employee right-to-know processes.

Requirements

• Safety and health technical degree with four years of experience, or an Environmental Health and Safety background with one to five years of experience.
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements and federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Good communication skills.
• Must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States without employer-sponsored immigration support.

Nice to have

• Experience chairing or leading a facility safety committee.
• Experience managing a Behavior Based Safety Program.
