EH&S Manager (Aerospace)

Location: Los Angeles, CA, United States. The role operates across the manufacturing floor, cleanrooms, and laboratories. The position requires access to ITAR-controlled information and items; the hired candidate must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for a federally issued export control license.

Base salary: $125,000–$170,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Build and own the EH&S program, including policies, procedures, training, governance, and operational systems.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, EPA, and California hazardous materials and waste regulations.
• Lead industrial hygiene, exposure monitoring, chemical safety, hazardous materials, and hazardous waste programs.
• Own safety programs for cleanrooms, laboratories, and manufacturing areas, including PPE, machine guarding, lockout/tagout, and confined-space procedures.
• Investigate injuries, near-misses, and environmental incidents; lead root-cause analysis and corrective action tracking.
• Develop emergency response plans, manage workers’ compensation cases, track EH&S metrics, and support regulatory inspections and audits.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, industrial hygiene, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 7+ years of EH&S experience in manufacturing, industrial, aerospace, or hardware environments, including 2+ years building or leading an EH&S function.
• Deep working knowledge of Cal/OSHA, federal OSHA, and California hazardous materials and waste regulations.
• Direct experience with hazardous materials handling, industrial hygiene, chemical safety, incident investigations, and corrective action programs.
• Ability to work hands-on on a manufacturing floor and train and influence engineers and technicians at all levels.
• Must be a U.S. person under ITAR or otherwise eligible for a federally issued export control license.

Nice to have

• Experience launching an EH&S program at a startup or fast-scaling company.
• CSP, CIH, or similar certification.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, semiconductor, or cleanroom manufacturing.
• Familiarity with ISO 45001 or similar EH&S management systems.
