Maps Product Engineer (Geospatial)

Location: New York City, US; the role will be based at the NYC headquarters

Salary: $200K–$300K per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Own the data foundation behind the geocoder, including data modeling, consistency, and reliable serving across Scala, Python, and Rust.
• Build pipelines that combine commercial and open location-data sources to expand coverage and improve quality across US and international datasets.
• Integrate LLMs and agents into enrichment, labeling, and quality workflows with appropriate trust and safety guardrails.
• Work across the geocoding stack, from the HorizonDB serving path to the Node.js and TypeScript API layer.
• Build systems supporting more than 1 billion API calls per day.
• Engage with customers and prospects, using their feedback to improve the product.

Requirements

• Generalist engineering mindset and willingness to work across multiple technology stacks.
• Curiosity and persistence when solving complex technical problems.
• Interest in speaking with customers and prospects and helping them succeed.
• Experience or ability to work with data foundations, APIs, and large-scale systems.
• Ability to work from the New York City headquarters in the US

Nice to have

• Experience as a technical co-founder.
• Experience with high-throughput, high-growth SaaS applications.
• Geospatial infrastructure experience.
• Large-scale data pipelines or data-integration systems experience.
• Experience using LLMs in data or ML pipelines for enrichment, labeling, or evaluation.
