Software Engineer (Geospatial Analytics)

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Design, implement, and own software systems for processing, managing, visualizing, and distributing geospatial data, with an emphasis on SAR imagery.
• Build scalable data pipelines, backend services, databases, schemas, and data models for large-scale geospatial datasets.
• Develop and integrate geospatial services and APIs into operational software systems.
• Contribute to architecture decisions covering distributed systems, service design, data pipelines, and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with algorithm developers and data scientists to turn research capabilities into production software.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, performance optimization, documentation, and software delivery.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance is required.
• Applicants must be a U.S. Person and eligible to obtain required export authorizations under ITAR and EAR regulations.
• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 5+ years of professional software development experience, or MS with 3+ years of experience.
• Strong Python programming skills and experience developing software in Linux environments.
• Academic background or foundational training in physics.
• Experience with version control, debugging tools, collaborative development workflows, and independently delivering software solutions.

Nice to have

• Geospatial data processing, remote sensing, SAR, PostGIS, WMS/WFS, QGIS, or large-scale geospatial dataset experience.
• Distributed systems, service-based architectures, workflow orchestration, Apache Airflow, Docker, Kubernetes, or AWS experience.
• Experience with agentic AI frameworks or the Model Context Protocol for geospatial workflows and systems integration.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance and an advanced degree in a relevant technical field.
