Software Engineer, Data Infra (AI)

Salary: $180,000–$270,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Design interactive systems that unify robot logs, video, and 3D sensor data.
• Build human-in-the-loop workflows for episode annotation, teleoperation, skill capture, and manual intervention analysis.
• Develop algorithms that extract trajectories, events, and 3D poses from raw sensor captures.
• Create high-performance tools for comparing model-driven motion with human-captured data and benchmarking progress.
• Build and operate distributed pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and validating terabytes of multimodal data.
• Develop visualization and debugging tools while collaborating across ML, Robotics, and Product teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally focused on data-intensive or human-in-the-loop platforms.
• Proficiency in Python, including NumPy and Pandas, and understanding of modern backend architectures.
• Strong algorithmic and mathematical skills, including coordinate transformations and 3D spatial reasoning.
• Hands-on experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL and Redis, plus GCP or AWS.
• Experience with Kubernetes and multimodal data such as video, LiDAR, and time-series data in robotics or autonomous systems.
• Ability to independently debug issues including sensor drift and data pipeline bottlenecks.

Nice to have

• React and TypeScript experience for internal observability tools.
• Familiarity with Airflow, Kubeflow, or similar distributed batch-processing systems.
• Experience with Weights & Biases or MLflow.
• Experience as an early hire in a fast-paced startup environment.
