Senior BIM Designer/Specialist, Civil Structures

Location: Alameda, California, or remote within the United States. Some travel may be required, up to 10%.

Salary: $140,000–$165,400 per year for employees working onsite at the Alameda headquarters.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain the company BIM strategy, Revit standards, workflows, project-specific BIM Execution Plans, and Level of Development requirements.
• Manage BIM delivery for civil structures projects from planning and design through construction and as-built documentation.
• Lead interdisciplinary coordination with federated models, Revit Structure, Civil 3D, Navisworks, and InfraWorks.
• Manage clash detection and resolution meetings and ensure interoperability between civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical designs.
• Build standardized Revit families and content for bridge components, retaining walls, culverts, foundations, and other civil structural elements.
• Mentor BIM coordinators, modelers, and civil engineering staff; conduct training and quality-control reviews of models and documentation.
• Generate 2D and 3D layout drawings, review plant layouts, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• 7–10 years of AECO industry experience, including at least 5 years in BIM management or coordination for structural or civil projects.
• Expert-level Autodesk Revit Structure proficiency with a portfolio of complex projects.
• Experience creating and managing advanced Revit families, parameters, and templates.
• Experience with Autodesk Navisworks for coordination and clash detection, plus solid working knowledge of Civil 3D and its interface with Revit.
• Engineering drafting or designer experience in civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, communications, architectural, or fire protection fields.
• Ability to work collaboratively, solve problems efficiently, support safety, and manage detailed technical documentation.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree, Professional Engineer license, or Autodesk Certified Professional certification.
• Experience in nuclear or other regulated environments.
• Experience with AVEVA 3D, Bentley OpenRoads, OpenBridge, ReCap, BIM 360, or Autodesk Construction Cloud.
• Experience with Dynamo for Revit and 4D or 5D BIM processes.
