Director, Applied AI

Location: New York, New York, United States; onsite at least four days per week

Base salary: $225,000–$265,000 annually

What you will do

• Own the Applied AI roadmap across finance, operations, revenue, and go-to-market functions.
• Hire, develop, and lead AI Engineers and Process Analysts.
• Partner with functional leaders to redesign workflows and build AI-first solutions.
• Set standards for designing, evaluating, and deploying AI workflows, prompt systems, and LLM integrations.
• Establish metrics for time savings, error reduction, and cost impact.
• Present strategy, progress, and results to senior and executive leadership.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, AI/ML, or technical product leadership.
• At least 2 years leading teams that shipped AI-powered systems in production.
• Hands-on familiarity with LLMs, agentic workflows, OpenAI, LangChain, and vector databases.
• Strong engineering skills with the ability to review and guide technical decisions.
• Experience driving organizational change, process redesign, change management, and technology adoption.
• Excellent communication skills for explaining complex AI concepts to non-technical executives.
