Tech Lead (Java)

Location: Hybrid in Bogotá, Colombia; Mexico City, Mexico; or São Paulo, Brazil. Hybrid work includes time in the office, with more frequent office presence during ramp-up or when required by the leader.

What you will do

• Lead technical direction and architecture for high-impact internal systems and services.
• Build an integration platform and interfaces connecting hirify.global teams and AI agents to the ClarOps backend.
• Set engineering quality standards through code reviews, design reviews, and hands-on technical contribution.
• Review product specifications, identify feasibility gaps, and propose ways to use AI tooling.
• Run the team's execution rhythm, including sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives.
• Mentor engineers and drive cross-team problem-solving and architectural discussions.

Requirements

• 7+ years of engineering experience, including experience as the senior technical voice on a team.
• Strong backend foundation in Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience with microservices architecture and event-driven systems using Kafka.
• Ability to lead a multidisciplinary team and contribute to frontend architecture and integration discussions.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and modern development tooling.
• English proficiency required for leading technical discussions across geographies. High autonomy, proactivity, ownership, and interest in applying AI tools are expected.
