Tech Lead Manager (Fintech)

Location: Remote from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, or Mexico

What you will do

• Lead a squad of 4–8 engineers as a player-coach, balancing people management with 40–60% hands-on individual contributor work.
• Hire and onboard engineers, run 1:1s, provide feedback, conduct performance reviews, and coach career growth.
• Own delivery, quality, predictable velocity, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
• Write code, review pull requests, guide architecture decisions, and promote CI/CD, testing, observability, and engineering best practices.
• Handle squad-level incidents and postmortems while removing blockers and maintaining team focus.
• Partner with product managers and designers, represent the squad in cross-team planning, and teach effective AI usage for reviews, design, and debugging.

Requirements

• 4+ years of software engineering experience and 1+ year managing or leading a team.
• Strong technical background with experience guiding architecture discussions and code reviews.
• Experience with modern development practices, CI/CD, cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP, and observability.
• Familiarity with Java/Spring, Angular or React, PostgreSQL, AWS, and DataDog, or similar technologies.
• Experience running 1:1s, giving direct feedback, developing engineers, and building trust, psychological safety, and ownership.
• Fluent Spanish and working English required for cross-team collaboration.

• Experience in fintech, payments, or high-growth startups.
• Experience scaling or building engineering teams from scratch.
• Familiarity with engineering career frameworks and coaching practices.
• On-call and incident management experience.
