Commissioning Field Engineer (Data Centers)

Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana, United States. Project-based assignments require regular travel, extended on-site presence, and potential relocation depending on project needs.

What you will do

• Execute pre-functional, functional, and integrated commissioning activities for mechanical, electrical, and controls systems.
• Support startup and commissioning of UPS systems, generators, switchgear, PDUs, CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, and BMS/EPMS platforms.
• Document tests, deficiencies, resolutions, punch lists, equipment startups, and turnover packages.
• Coordinate commissioning sequences with general contractors, subcontractors, equipment vendors, and the owner's engineering team.
• Verify installations against construction drawings and specifications, identify deficiencies, and drive timely resolution.
• Communicate progress, issues, and schedule risks while supporting operational turnover and enforcing site safety protocols.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of hands-on experience in commissioning, startup, or field engineering for data centers, mission-critical facilities, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems used in mission-critical environments.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, single-line diagrams, equipment submittals, test scripts, and turnover documentation.
• Experience coordinating multiple trades and subcontractors on active construction sites.
• Willingness and ability to travel to project sites; relocation may be required based on project assignment.
• Valid driver's license required; an active passport is preferred for potential international assignments.

Nice to have

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
• Experience commissioning mission-critical power, cooling, fiber, or telecom infrastructure.
