Senior Commissioning Lead (AI Datacenter Infrastructure)

What you will do

• Develop project-specific pre-commissioning and commissioning plans, including scope, milestones, resources, dependencies, system boundaries, and test packages.
• Lead pre-functional checks and functional performance tests for direct-to-chip liquid cooling loops, air-cooled systems, rack power, safety systems, and controls.
• Execute full-load, partial-load, step-load, transient, failover, emergency shutdown, and recovery testing across power, cooling, controls, and IT subsystems.
• Coordinate server and rack OEM activities, including liquid-loop connections, filling and venting, and verification of rack flow, pressure, and temperature.
• Maintain commissioning procedures, scripts, checklists, logs, punch lists, issue registers, and final handover documentation.
• Lead commissioning engineers and technicians, coordinate contractors and vendors, enforce site safety, and act as the primary customer contact.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience in mission-critical facility commissioning.
• 7+ years of commissioning experience in data centers or comparable mission-critical environments, including at least 3 years in a lead or site-lead role.
• Strong hands-on background in mechanical and HVAC systems, hydronic or liquid cooling, and bringing high-density IT or GPU racks into production.
• Working knowledge of data center electrical distribution, rack-level power, controls, and BMS concepts sufficient to lead integrated systems testing and troubleshooting.
• Experience developing commissioning plans, test scripts, reports, records, issue registers, and close-out documentation.
• Ability to coordinate contractors and vendors on a live site, represent the project to customers and operations teams, and enforce safety requirements for electrical work, pressurized liquid handling, confined spaces, and work at height.

Nice to have

• Direct experience commissioning direct-to-chip liquid-cooled racks.
• Experience with modular or containerized datacenters, including FAT and SAT of prefabricated units.
• Commissioning, TAB, NEBB, AABC, CxA, or relevant safety certifications.
• Experience with commissioning management software and digital tools for issue tracking, test execution, and documentation.
• Background in fast-paced AI or cloud infrastructure environments.
