China Customs Manager

Location: Shenzhen (Nanshan), China; supporting operations in Dongguan

hirify.global is a global technology company with a legal team responsible for trade compliance across its China operations.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end import and export operations for the Shenzhen and Dongguan sites.
• Coordinate with supply chain, logistics providers, customs brokers, and government authorities to ensure efficient and compliant movement of goods.
• Lead local trade teams in resolving shipment delays, customs clearance issues, regulatory inquiries, and audits.
• Oversee customs compliance covering HS code classification, country of origin, customs valuation, and import/export licensing.
• Implement global trade compliance programs, audits, risk assessments, gap analyses, corrective actions, and training.
• Identify duty-saving opportunities, manage bonded manufacturing and temporary import/export programs, and assess AEO upgrading opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in law, international business, supply chain, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in China customs operations and compliance.
• Fluency in English and Mandarin is required.
• Strong knowledge of customs clearance, trade policies, regulatory risk mitigation, and compliance controls.
• Proven leadership, analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience with Global Trade Management or ERP-based compliance tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with customs operations and compliance across Hong Kong and the APAC region.
• Experience in prestigious law firms or consulting firms.
