Senior Sourcing Engineer

Location: Beijing, China; occasional travel to meet suppliers, attend industry events, and participate in global meetings.

Develops and optimizes drives and high-performance systems, including batteries, fuel cells, combined heat and power plants, and heat pumps, for automotive and energy-sector OEMs.

What you will do

• Identify and source suppliers for materials and services required by purchasing operations.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships to support reliable supply chains.
• Negotiate supplier contracts, pricing, terms, and conditions.
• Execute purchasing activities, including order placement, follow-up, and delivery expediting.
• Contribute to cost optimization programs and category-specific cost-saving targets.
• Assess and mitigate supplier risks, analyze focused markets, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations while coordinating with quality and engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering field.
• At least 3 years of experience in senior strategic purchasing or sourcing.
• At least 3 years of experience working in an international company.
• Experience in project-driven or industrial environments.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills, including advanced supplier negotiation, contract management, and risk assessment.
• Proficiency in ERP systems, specifically SAP, and procurement software such as SRM.
• Ability to analyze market trends and data, with a deep understanding of product cost analysis and cost engineering methods.
• Knowledge of trade and compliance regulations.
• Proficiency in Mandarin and English.
• Detail-oriented, collaborative, and proactive approach to purchasing and supplier management.

Nice to have

• Experience in manufacturing, machinery, or systems engineering industries.
• Experience purchasing non-standard products, finished goods, equipment, or facilities for laboratories or R&D centers in the manufacturing industry.
