Training Manager (Data Center Operations)

Location: PDX-01; ideally hybrid at an Aligned data center location. Travel to locations in the United States up to 25% is required, including occasional weekends and evenings.

What you will do

• Lead the training and development program for data center system operations.
• Develop training materials for electrical, mechanical, HVAC, UPS, distribution, control, fluid, chemical treatment, and safety systems.
• Standardize operations onboarding covering site orientation, procedures, customer support, maintenance management, alarms, controls, and security access.
• Collaborate with operations leadership to improve equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, safe operation, and incident response.
• Design and deliver simulated and real drills to strengthen incident-handling capabilities.
• Review existing materials and responsibilities while identifying training needs and program gaps.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, with the ability to learn across mechanical and process-control disciplines.
• Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills; significant technical writing is required.
• Ability to research technical manuals, drawings, system descriptions, and other references to prepare training materials.
• Experience or ability to create web-based, instructor-led, on-the-job, self-study, and laboratory training.
• Ability to present complex technical topics and build trust through face-to-face interactions and interviews.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; resourcefulness, creativity, teamwork, and adaptability.
