TL;DR
EEE Parts Engineer (Spaceflight Electronics): Supporting reliable electrical, electronic, and electromechanical components for next-generation spacesuits and commercial space infrastructure with an accent on component qualification, reliability, supplier documentation, and manufacturing interfaces. Focus on analyzing high-risk products, resolving failure and reliability issues, approving component alternatives, and preparing documentation for design, assembly, and testing.

Location: Houston, United States. Office-based work with occasional indoor or outdoor duties; evening and weekend work may be required for critical project milestones.

What you will do

  • Identify, track, communicate, and disposition part change notifications and new part requests.
  • Review bills of materials, supplier documentation, and component alternatives for reliability, obsolescence, and grade changes.
  • Support EEE parts reliability investigations, risk mitigation, failure analysis, and closure of technical issues.
  • Perform dimensional, destructive, and quality analysis on high-risk products and components.
  • Coordinate with component manufacturers, test laboratories, supply chain, procurement, design engineering, production, and manufacturing.
  • Maintain component databases and prepare documentation for design reviews, manufacturing, assembly, and testing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or an equivalent field.
  • 6+ years of experience with electrical designs, components, circuits, PCBAs, or electronic assemblies.
  • Proof of U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent residency and eligibility to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
  • Ability to communicate proactively, solve problems, and deliver outcomes in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration, accountability, and execution skills.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends when required by critical project milestones.

Nice to have

  • Experience with system architecture, supply chain, purchasing, production, or manufacturing.
  • Experience with non-destructive and destructive laboratory analysis techniques.
  • Basic Python or SQL coding skills.
  • Experience with spaceflight or harsh-environment-rated electronics and electronic component manufacturing systems.
  • Knowledge of JEDEC, EIA, IPC, military, NASA EEE-INST-002, or ESA standards.
