Engineering Manager - AI Engineering & AI Platform (m/f/x) (AI)

What you will do

• Build and lead a new AI Engineering and AI Platform team, supporting engineering growth and autonomous ways of working.
• Provide technical direction for AI and LLM services, scalable backend systems, AWS architectures, Terraform infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and agentic workflows.
• Drive AI use cases from ideation and technical scoping through delivery, rollout, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Shape the internal AI platform for model access, MCP server integrations, observability, governance, rate limiting, and cost management.
• Collaborate with Data Science, Product, Engineering, Security, Platform, and business stakeholders to deliver high-value AI use cases.
• Establish engineering practices for reliable, secure, maintainable, production-grade AI systems and support recruitment for the team.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, or a comparable field.
• Previous experience in software, backend, platform, cloud, or AI engineering.
• Experience leading engineers as an Engineering Manager, Team Lead, Tech Lead, or in a comparable role.
• Strong knowledge of scalable backend systems, cloud-native architecture, API design, and modern software development.
• Experience integrating LLM APIs, agentic workflows, and production-grade AI services.
• Hands-on experience with Python, Docker, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and Infrastructure as Code, preferably AWS and Terraform.

Nice to have

• Experience with LangGraph, LiteLLM, Langfuse, Datadog, MCP servers, or similar technologies.
