Engineering Manager (DevOps/QA)

Location: Must be based in London, UK (Kings Cross office). Role requires 4 days per week in the office.

Salary: £93,681 – £131,482 + Equity

What you will do

• Manage and mentor a team of DevOps and test engineers, setting priorities and individual development plans.
• Own the CI/CD strategy, build infrastructure, and release processes across the software stack.
• Lead the Yocto-based embedded Linux platform build, deployment, and secure software update mechanisms.
• Define and drive software V&V and test automation strategies, championing design for testability.
• Establish compliance-as-code workflows to map evidence to IEC 62304 and ISO 14971 standards.
• Coordinate cybersecurity workstreams and support MLOps workflows for data ingest and analysis.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software, DevOps, or test engineering, with 3+ years in a leadership role.
• Strong hands-on background in CI/CD, build systems, and test automation for embedded or cloud systems.
• Experience with embedded Linux build and deployment (Yocto-based BSPs preferred).
• Proven experience delivering in a regulated industry (medical devices, aerospace, or automotive).
• Working knowledge of IEC 62304 and ISO 14971.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and C/C++.

Nice to have

• Experience with hardware-in-the-loop or software-in-the-loop test environments.
• Exposure to MLOps, dataset governance, and AI strategy deployment.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity requirements like IEC 81001-5-1.
• Experience with Terraform, CDK, CMake, or Conan.
