TL;DR
Specialist, L1 Integration Testing (Automotive): Integrating and validating vehicle-level electrical and software systems across complete electric vehicle programs with an accent on ECU integration, communication networks, diagnostics, and release readiness. Focus on solving cross-domain integration issues, validating fault and environmental scenarios, and ensuring robust vehicle behavior under high bus load, low voltage, cold crank, and OTA conditions.

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, United States; 4–5 days per week in the office. Regular in-person meetings, events, and occasional travel are required.

Annual base salary: $110,000–$135,000, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

Company

hirify.global is developing electrified and digitally enabled rugged SUVs and pickup trucks, including all-electric and range-extender powertrains.

What you will do

  • Integrate domain controllers and distributed ECUs into the vehicle electrical and electronic architecture.
  • Own software integration, vehicle-level validation, regression planning, and approval of integration builds across software maturity and release milestones.
  • Validate CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, FlexRay, and Automotive Ethernet communication, including network topology, gateway routing, signal databases, bandwidth, and bus loading.
  • Coordinate integration across powertrain and electrification, body and comfort, ADAS, infotainment, connectivity, central compute, and zonal controller domains.
  • Validate system behavior under nominal, boundary, fault-injection, high-bus-load, low-voltage, cold-crank, power-cycle, and OTA scenarios.
  • Analyze cross-domain issues, support integration war rooms during DV/PV builds, and release functional KPIs covering defect leakage, build stability, bus-load margins, flashing success, and integration maturity.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related field, with 4+ years of experience.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle E/E architecture, ECU software stacks, automotive communication protocols, UDS diagnostics, and diagnostic tools.
  • Expertise with Jira, GitHub or GitLab, Jenkins, Artifactory, and ALM/PLM tools such as Siemens Polarion, IBM DOORS Next Generation, or PTC Windchill.
  • Experience developing and verifying plant and control models in MATLAB/Simulink for hardware-in-the-loop environments, including dSPACE ControlDesk and AutomationDesk.
  • Familiarity with embedded software, A2B, CAN, Automotive Ethernet, LIN, LVDS, and vehicle network tools such as CANalyzer and CANoe.
  • Ability to work onsite in Charlotte 4–5 days per week and travel for company events when required.

Culture & Benefits

  • Opportunity to build new vehicles and help establish an automotive company and product portfolio from the ground up.
  • Medical, dental, vision, and income protection plans.
  • 401(k) program with employer match and immediate vesting.
  • Paid time off including planned and unplanned PTO, company or floating holidays, paid parental leave, bereavement leave, jury duty leave, voting time, and military leave.
  • Inclusive, entrepreneurial, and collaborative engineering environment.
