Staff Systems Integration Engineer (Electric Vehicles)

Location: Palo Alto, United States; work arrangement: on-site

Salary: $190,000–$220,000 per year, depending on experience, qualifications, and location.

What you will do

• Coordinate with hardware teams and lead vehicle bring-up activities across vehicle builds.
• Integrate firmware and software components developed by cross-functional teams.
• Triage vehicle hardware and software bugs, escalating issues based on user and program impact.
• Develop test cases and verify system-level functions across benches, lab cars, and vehicles, including release-readiness and regression testing.
• Analyze CAN data, physical measurements, and emulated module data while contributing to architectural and technical discussions.
• Build and manage scalable automated testing, firmware versioning, test assets, vehicle tooling, and data-logging resources using Python, C, or Simulink.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience with electro-mechanical system integration.
• Understanding of the embedded systems development lifecycle, including hardware, embedded operating systems, programming, testing, and implementation.
• Experience reading source code, reasoning about state machines, and programming in C++, C#, Java, or Python, with numerical programming or scripting experience using Pandas or MATLAB.
• Experience with CI/CD systems, CAN, LIN, Ethernet, Git, and cross-platform software development.
• Experience with tools such as Grafana, Bamboo, JIRA, Bazel, Confluence, JAMA, Polarion, or DOORS.
