What you will do
- Lead EHS assurance, governance, and safety culture across Sydney development projects and customer environments.
- Provide coaching and strategic guidance to EHS Project Managers and mentor the wider team.
- Conduct assurance activities for high-risk construction work, including planning workshops and implementation of critical global minimum standards.
- Develop and improve EHS audit, inspection, assurance, incident investigation, and corrective-action processes.
- Monitor General Contractor compliance with standards, governance frameworks, and Australian WHS legislation.
- Review EHS indicators, Power BI dashboards, and reporting while engaging contractors, consultants, customers, and project stakeholders.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in Construction EHS roles on major projects, including work with Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractors.
- Experience with high-risk construction assurance, governance, critical risk management, contractor management, audits, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
- Advanced understanding of Australian WHS legislation and risk management principles.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing, written communication, reporting, and presentation skills.
- Experience with EHS reporting systems and data analytics platforms such as Power BI.
- Diploma in Work Health & Safety or equivalent, plus a current New South Wales Driver’s Licence and own reliable vehicle.
Nice to have
- Data centre, major project, hyperscale construction, or owner-side/client-side EHS assurance experience.
- Exposure to commissioning, energisation, operational readiness, Safety in Design reviews, ICAM or equivalent incident investigation training, and ISO-aligned management systems.
