Senior Staff Software Engineer, Software & Frameworks (Android Applications)

Location: Fremont, California, or Charlotte, North Carolina, United States. The role requires working in the office 4–5 days per week, attending regular in-person meetings and events, and occasional business travel.

Annual base salary: $180,000–$220,000. California base salary range: $198,000–$242,000. The position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Design and implement Kotlin/Java Android applications and frameworks for vehicle infotainment.
• Build applications, frameworks, and SDKs for navigation, EV charging, media, HVAC, cameras, voice, connectivity, and vehicle controls.
• Deliver features using test-driven development.
• Collaborate with UX, product, instrument cluster, and mobile teams to ensure end-to-end quality.
• Contribute to software architecture, code reviews, and engineering best practices.

Requirements

• BS or MS degree in computer science or a related field.
• 10+ years of Android application development experience.
• Expertise in Android OS, AOSP/AAOS, Kotlin/Java, and embedded application design.
• Pragmatic problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a focus on quality and impact.
• Ability to work in the Fremont or Charlotte office 4–5 days per week and participate in occasional company travel.
