Android Software Engineer (Android Framework)

Location: In-office in Corvallis, Oregon, US, or Christchurch, New Zealand. Travel requirement: 10%.

Salary: $115,600–$158,900 per year, with bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Design and develop Android Framework components and middleware for rugged mobile devices.
• Integrate new functionality and services into OS platform updates and quarterly releases.
• Develop mobile device management and diagnostic telemetry solutions.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity specialists on threat analysis and mitigation plans.
• Coordinate the Google Mobile Services certification process with third-party test laboratories.
• Troubleshoot system errors and implement corrective actions in a continuous integration environment.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Android application development or embedded Linux GUI environments.
• Degree in Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent experience.
• Strong understanding of embedded software and operating system architectures.
• Experience managing software components in Git- or Repo-based continuous integration environments.
• Strong communication and complex technical problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with MDM products or diagnostic telemetry.
• Familiarity with Jira or similar bug-tracking systems.
• Knowledge of low-level hardware interfaces and multi-radio connectivity.
