Senior Android Engineer

Location: Hybrid-flexible, with occasional in-person attendance required. Primary residence must be in or near approved cities in the United States, Canada, or Mexico.

Salary: $124,000–$214,500 annual base pay in US markets outside California; California range is $151,000–$226,000. Canada range is CAD 157,000–201,000.

What you will do

• Design and build high-quality Android experiences for Fable.
• Plan and develop features across the application in collaboration with product, design, QE, and engineering.
• Drive the Android architectural roadmap and improve application performance and stability.
• Improve code quality, test coverage, and release reliability through engineering practices and code reviews.
• Contribute to technical direction, design discussions, mentorship, and Android development standards.
• Use a user-first approach to guide technical decisions and product experiences.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Android development experience and a track record of shipping high-quality consumer apps at scale.
• Strong Kotlin experience with Jetpack Compose, Coroutines/Flows, and modern Android architecture patterns such as MVVM or MVI.
• Experience building intuitive interfaces with attention to usability, accessibility, and performance.
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally with product, design, and QA partners.
• Ability to own work from concept through release and contribute to mentoring and knowledge-sharing.
• Primary residence must be in or near an approved US, Canadian, or Mexican city; occasional in-person attendance is required.

Nice to have

• Experience improving reliability, load performance, or crash metrics in large-scale Android applications.
• Exposure to Firebase or similar authentication frameworks and subscription-oriented flows.
• Experience applying agentic or AI coding tools to Android development.
