Senior Engineer II-Applications (Software) (Embedded Systems)

Location: Austin, Texas, United States; onsite at Park Centre.

Annual base salary: $70,304–$205,000 USD, plus restricted stock units and quarterly bonuses.

What you will do

• Support customers using Microchip PCIe and USB products in the Networking Communication Group.
• Review schematics and block diagrams for USB and PCIe communication systems.
• Provide guidance on PCIe driver development and debugging.
• Answer technical questions from field sales engineers and customers during development.
• Create application notes, knowledgebase articles, software examples, and implementation manuals.
• Identify enablement gaps and define high-level requirements for future product development.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, with at least 7.5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong programming skills in C, C++, Python, and other embedded languages.
• Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems and the Linux build process.
• Experience in customer support and customer enablement.
• Knowledge of embedded processor development flows and ecosystems.
• Knowledge of PCIe driver development and debugging, PCIe and USB signaling, and packet inspection techniques.
